Jesse H. Routh, Sr., aged 70 years, died Saturday at New Ross of general debility. The funeral occurred there Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Harshbarger, of Ladoga. Jesse H. Routh, Sr. was born and raised in the Stoner settlement, east of Ladoga, but for many years resided one mile east of New Ross. He was one of the country's most respected pioneers and was a member of the Dunkard church. He leaves three sons. - thanks to Kim H

Jesse Routh, Sr., was born Jan. 15, 1826. He married Elizabeth Randall and resided on the farm most of his life. He was a member of the Dunkers denomination when he died which occurred June 27. Services were held at the house on Sunday by Rev. Harshbarger. Interment was at the Stover Cemetery. -s
